Completed mural (bottom image), permanently installed on the Arts & Technology Building, FVCC Summer 2012. (Top images) various stages of design and construction.
The students designed the mural using tessellations and two Golden Spirals intersecting.
The mural included over 400 tiles, most over 24” long.
A clay body was designed to withstand the extreme freeze-thaw conditions of Northwest Montana.
Students were responsible for all stages of the process – from design, to creating the tiles, to installing the mural.
