Process critique and detail of BFA exhibition. This student's work is the product of research she conducted exploring Medieval torture masks and devices. The metallic glazed surfaces came from recipes she researched and tested, to create a finish that truly looks like distressed metal. Many of these objects also have leather straps and buckles. Most of the work she made at home, and transported to school....which is amazing because these objects are so fragile! Each piece was fired to cone 6 in oxidation (electric kiln).
