Assignment: Teapot
This project is assigned near the end of the semester. Students may either find inspiration from a teapot created by another artist (contemporary or historic), and alter this design, or they can create their own design. In either case, the design is presented for review before construction begins.
3 views of the same piece; this student wanted to make a functioning coffee pot, with the lid designed to filter the coffee (or tea leaves). This piece was fired to cone 6 in oxidation (electric kiln).
